- Audi released the second-generation RS5 for 2018 as the ultimate evolution of the A5. Offered as a coupe and as a fastback called Sportback, it swapped its predecessor’s V8 for a twin-turbocharged V6 but it gained torque in the trade. Huge brakes and a model-specific suspension system helped drivers make the most of the drivetrain, while a more muscular-looking exterior design allowed the RS5 to easily stand out from the S5. It remains available as Audi of America’s answer to the BMW M4.
- Power comes from a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6, rated at 444 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission and Audi’s permanent Quattro all-wheel drive system.
